KORAPUT, DEC. 28: A pregnant woman in Odisha reportedly delivered a baby girl inside a forest while she was being taken to hospital on a cot, reports said on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incident was reported from Kurshi panchayat of Umerkote block in Odisha\u2019s Nabarangpur district, nearly 650 km from state capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to sources, Reena Santa of Bhaludangari village under Kurshi panchayat developed labour pain following which her family members called up the emergency ambulance service 108. However, the ambulance could not reach the village due to lack of motorable road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Left with no option, the family members with the help of fellow villagers carried the woman on a cot but, on the way, the woman gave birth to a baby girl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the delivery, the family members took the woman back to their home. The health condition of both the mother and the newborn was stated to be stable.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
