Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Launches LAccMi Yojana from Malkangiri District

Malkangiri, Odisha,12 October,2023: – Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Malkangiri, a region close to his heart, as he inaugurated the LAccMi Yojana from Malkangiri district on Thursday. Malkangiri, often regarded as the launching pad for Odisha’s development, has seen significant progress under his leadership.
“The journey of Odisha’s development began from Malkangiri, with initiatives like the One Rupee Rice and Biju Health Welfare Scheme,” Chief Minister stated during the launch event. He expressed his joy at introducing the LAccMi Yojana, emphasizing its potential to transform the public transport system and boost the local economy.
The LAccMii Yojana, a scheme originating from the needs expressed by Malkangiri residents, includes a provision of 10 lakh rupees for the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) to benefit mothers in the region. It aims to enhance connectivity and promote economic prosperity within the village and surrounding areas.
This groundbreaking initiative will introduce over a thousand buses throughout the state, with 36 already operational in Malkangiri. A total of 111 panchayats in Malkangiri will gain access to bus facilities, marking the beginning of a new era of development in these regions. The buses will be divided into two categories: Block Connectivity (Non-AC Bus Service) and District Connectivity (AC Bus Services), with discounted rates for women, students, and the physically disabled.
Recognizing the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Chief Minister emphasized that the LAccMii Yojana would ease the financial burden of villagers by providing affordable transportation options.
In addition to the LAccMi Yojana launch, Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for projects worth 600 crores and inaugurated projects worth 200 crores in Malkangiri. The event was attended by Minister Tukuni Sahu, Commerce and Transport, MP Ramesh Chandra Majhi, and MLA Chitrakonda Purna Chandra Baka.
Minister Tukuni Sahu stated that the LAccMii scheme, which commences in six districts, would enhance connectivity, benefiting farmers, students, and all residents alike. Chief Minister Shri.Naveen Patnaik concluded the day by taking a Laxmi Bus from the Stadium to MV-03, paying a fare of just 10 rupees, symbolizing his commitment to accessible and affordable public transportation in the region.
