Tata Steel Foundation Observes World Environment Day
– Accelerating Land Restoration, Desertification & Drought Resilience

Berhampur, June 6 : Tata Steel Foundation (TSF), in collaboration with Tata Steel Special Economic Zone (TS SEZ) and the State Pollution Control Board, Berhampur, celebrated World Environment Day at the ITI Berhampur auditorium. The event was marked by a series of activities aimed at raising awareness about environmental conservation and sustainability.
In the lead-up to the main event, a drawing competition was held on June 2, engaging over 300 students from various schools and colleges of the region. The theme for the competition was “Accelerating Land Restoration, Desertification & Drought Resilience – Our Land Our Future,” inspiring young minds to reflect on the importance of sustainable land management.
The celebration included a mass awareness rally, which saw enthusiastic participation from government officials, students, non-governmental organizations, and representatives from relevant industries. The rally emphasized the critical need for concerted efforts in land restoration and combating desertification and drought.
