Community Eye Screening Camp at Podapadi under CSR Initiative of Aditya Alumina Refinery

Kansariguda, Dec.26 :Aditya Alumina Refinery a unit of Hindalco Industries Limited of Aditya Birla Group, successfully organized an eye screening camp focusing on vision impairment, cataract detection, and retinal refraction. The camp was conducted with the medical support of LV Prasad Eye Hospital, Rayagada, as part of the refinery’s CSR initiatives.
The event was graced by the presence of dignitaries including Mr. S.K. Mishra, Chairman; Mr. Mazhar Beig, President and Unit Head, Aditya Alumina Refinery, Kansariguda; Dr. Rout, Vice President, Corporate Affairs; Mr. Deepak Mohanty, Head – HR, IR, CSR; and Mr. Tanmaya Mahanty, Program Manager – CSR and R&R. The event also highlighted the refinery’s engagement with the surrounding community.
A total of 173 individuals from 14 villages under Podapadi Panchayat underwent eye screening during the camp. People were screened for cataract, retinal refraction, and general vision impairment using contemporary, high-end diagnostic equipment. The screenings were carried out by experienced medical professionals from LV Prasad Eye Hospital.
As part of follow-up care, patients diagnosed with vision impairment will be provided with refractive lenses, while those identified with cataracts will be referred for surgical intervention in the near future.
The initiative reflects Aditya Alumina Refinery’s sustained efforts under its CSR programs to improve access to quality healthcare in the surrounding areas
