Bhojpuri actor Amrita Pandey dies by suicide, cryptic WhatsApp status goes viral
Bihar,Apr 30 : Bhojpuri actor Annapurna, popularly known as Amrita Pandey, died by suicide at her apartment in Bhagalpur, Bihar on April 27. Before dying, she posted a cryptic post on Instagram about ‘sinking a boat’, which is now going viral. The police are investigating the matter.
Bhojpuri actor Amrita Pandey was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her apartment in Bhagalpur, Bihar. Jogsar police are investigating the matter. The incident site was investigated by Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). A saree noose around the neck, mobile and other materials have been seized from the spot. As per her family members, the actor has worked in many films, shows, web series and advertisements in both Bhojpuri and Hindi.
Before dying, Amrita wrote a cryptic note on her WhatsApp status – “Do naav me savaar thi uski zindagi, humne apni naav duba ke uska safar aasaan kar diya (His/her life was riding on two boats, the path was made easier by sinking the boat).”
Meanwhile, according to Jogsar police, they got the suicide information on the evening of April 27. Station House Officer (SHO) Krishna Nandan Kumar Singh, SI Rajiv Ranjan and Shakti Paswan reached the spot soon after. Her body was recovered from the bed. When the police took the information, the family members said that Amrita’s sister went to her room at 3.30 pm. She was found hanging.
The family members cut the noose and immediately took her to a local private hospital. She was declared dead. Her body was brought back to their flat.
Amrita’s family members mentioned that she thoroughly enjoyed her sister, Veena’s wedding on April 26. No one can comprehend what led her to the drastic step.
Amrita was married to Chandramani Jhangad, an animation engineer, currently residing in Mumbai. They do not have any children.
According to her sister, Amrita was very worried about her career. She was very depressed and was also undergoing treatment.
Apart from Bhojpuri films, Amrita was also working on a web series. She had played roles in many serials and films. Recently, the first part of Amrita’s horror web series, ‘Pratishodh’, was released. She was very excited about it.
Police officials have said that every aspect of the case would be investigated.
