Call for Action: Malkangiri District Commemorates World Malaria Day with Pledge to End Disease

Malkangiri, April 25, 2024: In commemoration of World Malaria Day, the District Vector Control Department and National Health Mission in Malkangiri organized a significant event today, marking a collective effort towards combating malaria in the region. Held at the 5th floor of the District Headquarters Hospital ,Malkangiri, the event drew participation from various stakeholders committed to eradicating the disease.
The meeting, presided over by the esteemed presence of Collector Sachin Pawar, served as a platform for exchanging insights and strategies to intensify malaria control efforts in the district. With the theme “End Malaria for Good,” the discussions centered on innovative approaches and collaborative actions to achieve a malaria-free future by 2025.
Dr. Prafulla Kumar Nanda,CDMO Malkangiri , graced the occasion as the chief speaker, emphasizing the urgency and importance of concerted efforts in the fight against malaria. Dr. Nanda underscored the need for proactive measures, including enhanced surveillance, community engagement, and timely treatment, to curb the spread of the disease effectively.
Among the distinguished dignitaries addressing the gathering were District Welfare Officer (DWO) A. Srinivas Achary and Dr. Ranjan Kumar Swain, who shared valuable insights and experiences in malaria control initiatives. Their speeches highlighted the significance of multi-sectoral collaboration and grassroots involvement in achieving sustainable progress against malaria.
Collector Sachin Pawar expressed his commitment to mobilizing resources and support for comprehensive malaria control programs in Malkangiri. The event concluded with a renewed sense of determination and solidarity among attendees to redouble their efforts towards the shared goal of making Malkangiri a malaria-free district by 2025.
