Government’s Surrender Policy Inspires Lady Maoist Rame to Lay Down Arms

Malkangiri Odisha : 16 March :In a major development in the fight against Maoist insurgency, a senior Maoist leader and ACM Commander Rame surrendered before the Superintendent of Police in Sukma district, Chhattisgarh. Rame, who was involved in several big Maoist attacks , surrendered as she was inspired by the government’s new surrender policy named “Puna Narkam” .
The government had declared a reward of 5 lakh on Rame, who was a key member of the Maoist cadre operating in the Malkangiri border area of Chhattisgarh and Sukma district. Her surrender is being seen as a major setback for the Maoist insurgency in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, the SP of Sukma district said, “We welcome Rame’s decision to surrender and join the mainstream. The government’s surrendered policy provides a safe and secure environment for those who wish to give up the path of violence and join the mainstream. We urge other Maoist leaders to follow Rame’s example and join the mainstream.”
Rame’s surrender comes at a time when the government’s efforts to tackle the Maoist insurgency have been gaining momentum. The government has been implementing a multi-pronged strategy to counter the Maoist threat, which includes development initiatives, effective policing, and surrender and rehabilitation policies.
The surrender of senior Maoist leaders like Rame is a major boost to the government’s efforts and will go a long way in improving the law and order situation in the region. The government has expressed its commitment to continue its efforts to bring peace and development to the Maoist-affected areas of the country.
