Guwahati/ Assam, Oct 15 : A delegation from Morigaon District, led by Dr. Nilakhi Baishya, ACS, ADC (Health), and Dr. Sailendra Bordhan Bora, Joint Director of Health Services, Rimki Bhagawati, ICTC Counsellor, Pankaj Mahanta, Project Manger, SSK, STHG Civil Hospital participated in the AIDS Suraksha – Suraksha Sankalp Karyashala in Guwahati.

During the programme, Hon’ble Health & Family Welfare Minister, Government of Assam, Shri Ashok Singhal, emphasised proactive community engagement, particularly involving youth, social reformers and community leaders, to strengthen HIV prevention and STI awareness.

Dr. Amar Jyoti Deka, District AIDS Control Officer, Morigaon, presented postcards and wristbands carrying messages from the Breakfree stigma Campaign and TB-Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, as part of the Intensified IEC Campaign launched on 19 September 2026.

The Morigaon team was also invited by Dr. Indranoshee Das, ACS, Project Director, ASACS, to showcase its innovations in intensified IEC activities and the strengthening of OST and e-ARTcare services, facilitating accessible care for eligible PLHIV within the district.

The team’s integrated approach and the active guidance of the Morigaon District Administration, particularly District Commissioner Smt. Srishti Singh, IAS, and Additional District Commissioner (Health), were appreciated.
