Malkangiri,October 03,2023:- In a heartwarming turn of events, three orphaned siblings from Champakhari village, Malkangiri, have finally found a glimmer of hope through the District Legal Services Authority. Rashmita Madi, Barsa Madi, and Sagar Madi, who tragically lost both their parents, had been living in destitution for an extended period.

The Madi siblings faced severe hardship after the passing of their father and, subsequently, their mother in 2021. With no immediate family to support them, their elderly grandmother, a widow herself, became their sole guardian. However, overwhelmed by the responsibility, the children reached out to the District Legal Services Authority today for assistance.

Judge Rakesh Kumar Muduli, upon learning of their plight, swiftly contacted Chief Defense Advocate Ashok Kumar Patnaik, who, in turn, reached out to the Child Welfare Committee and the District Child Welfare Officer. As a result of this collaborative effort, the children were brought under the care and protection of the Child Welfare Committee, ensuring their rehabilitation and safety.

The Chief Welfare Officer and other members of the Child Welfare Committee are diligently working to determine the most suitable course of action for the siblings. This heartening development showcases the critical role played by the District Legal Services Authority in safeguarding the welfare of vulnerable individuals, particularly orphaned children, within the community.
