Paradeep/Odisha, Mar 13 : In a closely fought final,ParadeepgarhTeam emerged winners of the third edition of Udaan Inter Village Cricket Premier League organised by ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India)at Paradeepgarh in Jagatsinghpur district during March 9-12, 2026.12 teams from 12 villages including Nuagarh, Baldia, Handia, Musadia, Singitali, Paradeepgarh, Chakradharpur, Bhutmundai, Pipal, Bhimanasi, Bijayachandpur and Phulbelariparticipated in the tournament.

With the objective of instilling sportsmanship and fostering a culture of sports among the youth of nearby communities, AM/NS India, under its CSR initiative ‘Udaan’, organised the cricket tournament which was jointly inaugurated by Dr. Vikas Yadvendu, Head-CSR, AM/NS India in the presence of Shri Sanjaya Behera, Representative of ParadeepgarhSarpanch and senior advocate, other senior officials of AM/NS India, players of all the teams and members of the community.

Earlier, in the semifinal matches played on March 11, 2026, Bhutmundai beat Nuagarh by 43 runs while Paradeepgarh beat Baldiaby 48 runs to reach the final.In a 10-10 overs final match played at the Paradeepgarh village playground, ParadeepgarhTeam beatBhutmundaiTeam by 25 runs. Batting first,ParadeepgarhTeam scored111runs fora loss of 6wickets while BhutmundaiTeam could manage86 runs with the loss of4wickets.

During the closing ceremony,awards were presented byleadership of the Paradeep Pellet Plantof AM/NS India including Shri Kedar Pattnayak, Head-Electrical, Shri Parthapratim Chartterjee, Head-Mechanical, andShri Siva Krishna G, Section Head-Production along with Shri Sanjaya Behera. ParadeepgarhTeam received a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 along with the winner’s trophywhileBhutmundaiTeam received a cash prize of Rs. 15,000 along with the runner-up trophy. Ranjit Das of ParadeepgarhTeam was adjudged Best Batsman of the tournament andKumar Bunty ofParadeepgarhTeam bagged the award for Best Bowler in the tournament.

The tournament not only celebrated cricketing talent but also strengthened community spirit in the region, reflecting AM/NS India’s commitment to promoting youth engagement through such sports initiatives.
