Paradip Port Authority commemorates International Women’s Day

Paradip, March 14: With the theme “Invest in Women: Accelerate progress,” Paradip Port Authority in association Paradeep Ladies Club commemorated International Women’s Day. A function was organized at Officers’ Club.
Gracing the occasion, Shri P.L. Haranadh, Chairman, PPA said that as the Port is slated to become India’s No.1 Major Port in cargo throughput in current fiscal, the working women of Team PPA have significantly contributed in this regard. In downtrodden Indian society, imparting quality education to young girls is most important for its upliftment. Working Women Cell of PPA has been actively addressing the women related issues. Stressing on the health of women employees, he emphasized on a special camp for cancer screening and to avail the facilities of newly launched Mobile Medical Unit.
Guest of Honour, Shri Nilabhra Dasgupta, Dy. Chairman, PPA said that mother being the building block of every human being, now a days women folk are leading in various spheres of life. PPA has been achieving success because of significant contribution of its working women employees.
Dr. Shilpa Vinayak Gadade, eminent Cardiologist, gave discourse on the Cardiac Health and Ms. Swati Mohapatra, Dietician explained Nutrition therapy for Stress management. They were felicitated on the occasion for their outstanding contribution in their respective fields. Chairman and Dy. Chairman, PPA, also felicitated women officers and employees of PPA who have excelled in their respective fields in the current fiscal. A major attraction of the event was dance performance by Specially abled Girl children of Jagruti school. They were also felicitated on the occasion.
Smt. Susmita Samal, Chairperson, Working Women Cell, PPA offered Welcome speech, Dr.Runu Singh of PPA compeered the programme, Smt. Itishree Mohanty offered vote of thanks.
