The 44th All India Major Ports Athletics Meet and 31st Children Athletics Meet kicks off at PPA

Paradip, Jan. 31: The 44th All India Major Ports Athletics Meet and 31st Children Athletics Meet jointly organised by the Major Ports Sports Control Board and the Paradip Port Sports Council kicked off at Gopabandhu Stadium, here on Tuesday.
Around 250 participants from 8 major ports of India are participating in 12 groups and 133 events in the sports extravaganza.
Paradip Port Authority Chairman Shri P.L. Haranadh inaugurated the two Meets.
Taking the salute in the march past by participants, Shri Haranadh said that, it is important to organise such events, as these ensure a feeling of good camaraderie and brotherhood among Major Ports. Paradip Port is in the forefront conducting many such events & its sports council has been conducting continuously some event & other. This is very good for keeping the employees fit and fine, who contribute to the organization in a much better way. So as a part of our fitness exercise this Major Port events are conducted &it is encouraging that the children are participating.
On the occasion, Shri Sanjay Negi, DIG, Coastguard was the Guest of Honour. Shri D.N. Sondhi, Chairman, Organising Committee presided over the proceedings. Shri R.N.Mishra, Treasurer, GKS, Dr. D.P. Sethy, Secretary, Shri Rabi Dash, Co-ordinator & Shri Ranjan Rashmi Beura, Jt. Secretary of Organising Committee were also present. Students of Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir played the Band.
