Malkangiri,28 August ,2023:-In a distressing incident highlighting the dire state of infrastructure, a patient had to be transported in a wooden cot for half a kilometer in Nuaguda village, located in MV-79 under Kalimela Block,Malkangiri. The patient, Abanti Suna, has been undergoing dialysis for the past five months due to the critical condition of her kidneys.

Abanti Suna’s health took a turn for the worse recently, prompting her family into action. With her husband, three sons, daughters-in-law, nephew, and niece residing together, they jointly undertook the task of carrying her on a wooden cot to reach the ambulance. The village, home to 45 families with approximately 200 residents, faces a severe road condition that prevents ambulances from reaching their destination.

The road’s dilapidated state stems from persistent plough damage, making it inaccessible for essential services like ambulances. The village inhabitants have repeatedly notified local administration authorities about the pressing issue, but sadly, no corrective measures have been taken thus far. Despite government initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing citizen welfare, such distressing circumstances persist.

This incident has shed light on the urgent need for infrastructure development in remote regions like Nuaguda village. While various government schemes and initiatives are launched to uplift living standards, situations as grim as this underscore the gap between policy implementation and ground reality. The local administration is urged to take immediate action to address the road conditions, ensuring timely access to medical assistance and other vital services for the villagers.
