JAJPUR, APR 24 :  In 1997, when Naveen Patnaik, the youngest son of former chief minister and Janata Dal (which split to form the Biju Janata Dal) leader Biju Patnaik and a political greenhorn, returned to Odisha to light the pyre of his father, perhaps nobody had an inkling of what was to follow — an unchallenged rule for five consecutive terms.

Back in 2000, when Patnaik became the chief minister of Odisha for the first time, while in an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the state was reeling under the aftermath of the devastating supercyclone that had mutilated the landscape of the affected districts beyond recognition and had left more than 10,000 dead. Patnaik’s clean image, his father’s legacy and promise of a corruption-free and accountable government came as a breath of fresh air.

Twenty-four years down the line, the 78-year-old who seeks a record sixth term – Odisha will see elections for the 147 seats in the Assembly and 21 Lok Sabha seats from May 13 to June 1 — remains a “father figure”, fondly called Nabina, for the state.

Large Number Of Congress  & BJP  worker of deunkan grampanchayat  under danagadi  block in jajpur district   join ruling BJD on Sunday  at the presence of Minster & Sukinda MLA Pritiranjan ghadei   urged the youth and party activists to strengthen the hand of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in forming a developed Odisha.

He too highlighted the State Government’s various welfare measures for the betterment of the society and the State.

“Naveen rules in the heart of people. All Odias love him and they want to see the state grows under his leadership,”said ghadei  “bjd government has always stood by the poor and weaker sections of the society. This effect will continue and I want to make this state the number one province in the country”.

Minster Pritiranjan Ghadei Said “ Nabin Patnaik has to return to power, The BJD government, over the past few years, has spent crores on sprucing up all major temples, including the Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar, Maa Samalei project in Sambalpur and the comparatively fewer churches and mosques.

He Said “Naveen Patnaik has provided many facilities for the poor like ‘Mo Bus’, ‘Laxmi Bus’. In villages, women have become independent due to the funds provided to Self-Help Groups.

They are not afraid anymore.” & “Nabina has done a lot of work for Odisha and he will do more in the future for as long as he is there.” “Nabin Pattnaik  has done a lot of work for Odisha and he will do more in the future for as long as he is there.”
