September 18, 2024, Malkangiri: In a significant boost to the healthcare infrastructure of Malkangiri district, three new facilities the Blood Bank, Annex Building for the Drug Warehouse, and Government Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery Training Centre were inaugurated today at the District Headquarters Hospital .

The inauguration was graced by Hon’ble MP Nabarangapur, Shri Balabhadra Majhi. Among the other dignitaries MLA Malkangiri Narsingh Malkangiri , MLA Chitrakonda Shri Mangu Khilla ,Collector, Shri Ashish Iswar Patil, and CDMO Dr. Dhaneswar Mohapatra also attended the event.

The newly established Blood Bank has a storage capacity of 500 units, a major step forward in ensuring a steady and reliable supply of blood for medical emergencies. The Drug Warehouse will have the capacity to store medicines for the entire district for up to three months, ensuring timely and sufficient access to essential medications. Additionally, the new Government ANM Training Centre will provide quality training to 50 nursing students, strengthening the district’s healthcare workforce.

During the ceremony, MP Balabhadra Majhi emphasized the government’s commitment to improving health services in Malkangiri and assured the public that further infrastructure projects, including the establishment of a Medical College, are in the pipeline.

This development marks a major step forward in enhancing healthcare facilities in Malkangiri and is expected to address key healthcare challenges in the region.
