AOCWA and AOCA Present Critical Construction Contract Issues to Hon’ble Chief Minister

Bhubaneswar, Dec 14 : The All Odisha Contractors Welfare Association (AOCWA), in association with the All Odisha Contractors Association (AOCA), conducted a Press Meet today to present the key recommendations and demands emerging from the recently held Odisha Infrastructure Conclave 2024. The event, attended by policymakers, contractors, engineers, and academicians, addressed the challenges facing Odisha’s construction sector and proposed actionable solutions for sustainable infrastructure development.
The press meet was graced by Shri Jagannath Pradhan, Social Worker and Advisor of AOCWA, whose valuable insights guided the discussions on empowering Odia contractors. Speaking at the event, Sri J. Patra, President of AOCWA, emphasized the struggles faced by local contractors due to outdated policies, delayed payments, and limited opportunities. He urged the government to take immediate steps to create a fair and transparent contracting ecosystem that prioritizes Odia contractors while ensuring timely project execution.
Submission of Demand Letter to Hon’ble Minister of Works
On 12th December 2024, an AOCWA delegation, led by Shri Jagganath Pradhan, Sri J. Patra, met the Hon’ble Minister of Works, Shri Prithiviraj Harichandan, and submitted a formal Demand Letter highlighting key issues and proposed solutions. During the meeting, the Hon’ble Minister acknowledged the challenges faced by contractors and assured the delegation that he would take the demands to appropriate forums and work toward fulfilling them.
