Kalinganagar, March 22: Neelachal Ispat Nigam (NINL) successfully conducted a full-scale on-site emergency mock drill at its Kalinganagar Plant to test and refine its industrial safety and emergency preparedness protocols. The exercise simulated a realistic fire emergency scenario at the Tar Storage Area of the Coal Plant and By-Product Plant (BPP).

Organized under the guidance and supervision of Mr. Ganeshwar Mardi, Assistant Director of Factories & Boilers, Jajpur Zone, the drill featured the expert involvement of personnel from the State Fire Department and internal safety leaders, including Mr. Suresh Kumar Jena, Fire Incharge, Dangadhi.

The primary objective of this exercise was to provide a comprehensive review of the plant’s readiness to handle high-risk scenarios and to ensure the seamless coordination of emergency services. By simulating such a critical event, NINL demonstrated a proactive approach towards risk management and a steadfast commitment to safeguarding its working employees and industrial assets.

Under the observation of Mr. Ganeshwar Mardi and the tactical lead of Mr. Suresh Kumar Jena, the team successfully validated response times, equipment functionality, and communication channels. Through these rigorous simulations, NINL continues to prioritize a culture of safety and operational excellence within the Kalinganagar industrial hub.
