Kalinganagar, May 20: In a significant stride towards socio-economic empowerment, Tata Steel Kalinganagar (TSK) continues to reinforce its commitment to inclusive growth by integrating members of displaced families (DP) into its operational workforce through specialised training initiatives. Under the aegis of the Learning and Development (L&D) department, a new batch of 30 women from displaced families has commenced professional housekeeping training, while 14 youths have embarked on a comprehensive gas cutting programme.

This latest phase of development builds upon recent successes, including the deployment of 7 previously trained gas cutters who are already actively engaged on-site. Furthermore, 17 candidates have successfully completed their scaffolding training and with their gate pass documentation currently being processed, they are slated for formal engagement by next week.

In addition to this, 17 additional youth from project impacted families have also joined Tata Steel Technical Services, a subsidiary company of Tata Steel and deputed at Tata Steel Kalinganagar after getting training in fitter, mechanical and electrical domains.

These milestones, representing a total of 68 individuals currently transitioning into skilled roles, underscore TSK’s dedication to providing sustainable livelihoods and technical proficiency to land-loser communities.

This achievement has been made possible through the steadfast efforts by R&R Department in coordination and constant support from L&D, Safety, and HR teams, ensuring that local residents remain central to the region’s industrial progress.
