A poacher arrested with Wild Boar meat

Jajpur, July 4 : The forest officials have arrested a poacher and seized 65 kilograms of Wild Boar meat , four traps, two bows and arrows from him on Sunday at village Fulajhari within Mahagiri reserve forest under Tamaka forest range in Jajpur district when he was trying to sell the meat in the village and its nearby areas.
“Acting on a tip off , forest officials raided a place near the forest and arrested Babuli Hanaga(55) of village Fulajhar with the meat of the animal. During interrogation, he confessed that he along with other villagers killed a Wild Boar in the nearby forest on Saturday night after trapping the animal. The poacher was booked under sections- 9, 27, 29 and 35 of Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. We are raiding hideouts to nab other poachers as they managed to flee from the village “, said Ghanashyam Mudali the forest range officer of Tamaka forest range.
