Adani Foundation Observes ‘International Day Of The Girl Child’ at Utthan Centres

Dhamra (Bhadrak, Odisha): International Day of the Girl Child was celebrated on October 11th by Adani Foundation in its 46 Utthan centres in the Dhamra Port vicinity. This year’s theme for the day was “Our time is now—our rights, our future”. The primary motive of the event was to create awareness among the girls about the rights of a girl and to give girls the opportunities like everyone else and to support the girl child education of the nation and remove the gender-based biases.
The event was celebrated at various Utthan centres located in different government schools in the port vicinity. The teachers and the Utthan Sahayaks of Adani Foundation and ThinkZone organised mother’s meeting to create awareness on importance of Girl Child’s education and removal of different societal stigmas associated with girl’s child. The event focused on highlighting the social discrimination and exploitation that girl’s face in their life and how to act on the above cited issues.
