Malkangiri Odisha Feb 27  : In a grand celebration of religious fervor, the Bada Yatra 2023 began  at the Polur-Andhra Pradesh border. The festival kicked off with the boat journey of the revered Goddess Mutyaluma , lord  Balraj,Potraj and Kanamraj , ,who were accompanied by large number of devotees , who chanted  name with utmost devotion.

The Bada Yatra, which is a pilgrimage in every two years , attracts millions of devotees from across the state . The festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion, and it is considered to be one of the most significant events of Malkangiri district.

The highlight of the yatra was the ritualistic bath of the Gods in the river. The devotees, who had gathered in large numbers, took a dip in the river and offered their prayers to seek the blessings of the Almighty. The procession was led by a decorated chariot, which was adorned with flowers, lights, and colorful decorations.

As per the schedule, from 4 th to 7 th March  main yatra will take place at Malkangiri, another holy site in the region. The yatra is expected to draw a large number of devotees from across the country who come to seek the blessings of the Gods .

The authorities have made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the yatra, and security measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of the devotees. The Bada Yatra is expected to conclude on a high note, with the devotees returning home with the blessings of the Almighty.
