Malkangiri,17 October,2023:-In a bold move today, the Bharatiya Janata Party led by District President Nimai Pal submitted a demand letter to the Collector , Malkangiri, highlighting the numerous issues plaguing the district. One of the major concerns raised was the alarming state of the rice crop, deemed the “Lakshmi” (goddess of wealth and prosperity) of the farmers, which is currently at risk of significant damage. Pal stressed the urgent need for attention to the approaching harvest time, citing the government’s inattention to the impending drought situation.

Amidst the government’s prioritization of the LAccMi scheme, involving the deployment of hundreds of buses, the BJP emphasized the dire need for adequate canal water supply to the agricultural lands of the district within a stringent 15-day timeframe. Failure to address this critical water supply issue could potentially lead to a devastating drought situation, impacting the livelihoods of countless farmers.

The demand letter, directed through the District Collector to the Hon’ble Chief Minister and His Excellency the Governor of Odisha , called for immediate action to compensate the affected farmers and prevent further losses. Should the concerns remain unaddressed, the BJP warned of potential public agitation, vowing to stand with the farmers and ensure their voices are heard.

The event saw the presence of MLA Aditya Madhi, General Secretary Maniklal Chakraborty, and Coordinator Nihar Ray, emphasizing the party’s unified stance on the critical issues facing the agricultural community in Malkangiri.

The district now awaits a response from the concerned authorities, hoping for timely and decisive measures to avert the impending crisis and safeguard the interests of the hardworking farming population.
