Haryana,Feb 17 :  Family members of the two men found charred to death in a car in Haryana’s Bhiwani have alleged that they were abducted by cow vigilantes associated with the Bajrang Dal. Police said one of the victims was involved in cases of cow smuggling. An investigation is underway to determine if the deaths were a case of cow vigilantism or not.

Nasir (25) and Junaid alias Juna (35), both residents of Ghatmeeka village in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district, were allegedly abducted on Wednesday and their bodies were found in a charred Bolero in Loharu in Bhiwani the next morning.

Police said they were yet to ascertain their identities but confirmed that the burnt car was the Bolero the two men were driving before they were reported missing from Rajasthan’s Bharatpur.

The two charred bodies recovered from the Bolero were sent to a government hospital in Haryana’s Loharu for post mortem. A DNA examination of the bodies would be conducted to ascertain their identities, police said.

Hours after the discovery of the bodies, the deceased men’s family members claimed they were murdered. In their police complaint, they have claimed that friends Junaid and Nasir had gone missing and were kidnapped by alleged members of the Bajrang Dal.

Based on their complaint, an FIR was lodged against five people – Anil, Shrikant, Rinku Saini, Lokesh Singla, and Mohit alias Monu Manesar – at Gopalgarh police station in Rajasthan under Sections 143, 365, 367 and 368 of the Indian Penal Code.

Police said one of the victims, Junaid, had a criminal history involving cases of cow smuggling. Investigation is underway to determine if the crime was a case of cow vigilantism.

Meanwhile, one of the suspects in the case, Monu Manesar, has released a video proclaiming his innocence. According to reports, Monu Manesar, a Gurugram resident, has been associated with the Bajrang Dal for the last 10 years.

He has been absconding after a viral video showed him firing several rounds from a pistol in Haryana’s Pataudi, where clashes were reported between two groups last week. A class 12 student was injured in the firing incident.
