Bhubaneswar,Mar 18 : CSIR-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (CSIR-IMMT), Bhubaneswar, hosts the prestigious 51st Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Indoor Final Tournament-2024, from March 15th to 19th, 2024.

Shri Chetan Prakash Jain, Financial Adviser, CSIR, inaugurated the Tournament in the presence of Shri. Debasish Mohanty (former Indian Cricketer), Dr. Sanjeev Khosla, President, CSIR-SPB, Dr. Anuradha Madhukar, Chief Scientist, CSIR-HQ, Secretary, CSIR-SPB, Dr. Ramanuj Narayan, Director of CSIR-IMMT and Chairman of the event organising committee, Organizing Secretary Dr. Bankim Ch. Tripathy, Chief Scientist and Secretary, IMMT-Staff Club Dr. Bama Prasad Bag, Senior Principal Scientist.

On this occasion The annual Souvenir“SSBMT -2024” was unveiled by the distinguished guests.

Under the esteemed patronage of the CSIR-Sports Promotion Board, New Delhi, the event will feature participation from almost all the CSIR scientific laboratories across the country. More than 200 participants, competing for the national championship, the tournament will include a range of events such as bridge, chess, table tennis, badminton, and carrom board. For the first time more than 60 womenparticipated for this tournament.

The distinguished guests extended a warm welcome to all the participants from the PAN CSIR fraternity. Match officials from various associations including the All-Odisha Chess Association, Odisha Bridge Association, Odisha State Carrom Association, Odisha State Badminton Association, and Odisha State Table Tennis Association were also present.
