DISHA Meeting in Malkangiri Addresses Key Development Issues, Presided Over by Hon’ble MP Nabarangpur Ramesh Chandra Majhi

Malkangiri, May 10, 2023 – The District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) held a significant meeting today at the Zilla Parishad Conference Hall in Malkangiri. Chaired by the esteemed Member of Parliament from Nabarangpur, Sri.Ramesh Chandra Majhi, the meeting brought together key officials and representatives to discuss various developmental projects in the district.
Distinguished attendees included Zilla Parishad Chairman Smt. Samari Tangul, MLA Malkangiri, Sri.Aditya Madhi, MLA Chitrakonda, Sri.Purna Chandra Baka, Collector Malkangiri, Sri Vishal Singh, ZP Executive Officer Sri.Ratnakar Sahu, and Malkangiri Municipality Chairman, Sri.Monoj Kumar Barik,NAC Chairman Balimela Sri.Pradeep Nayak,Addl.SP.Sri.Balabhadra Deep.
The meeting primarily focused on addressing crucial infrastructure development initiatives aimed at improving the overall growth and well-being of the district’s residents. Among the key discussions, the completion timeline for the railway project took center stage. It was confirmed that the railway project, eagerly awaited by the local community, is expected to be finalized and operational by 2027. This development is poised to facilitate better connectivity, transportation, and trade opportunities for the region.
In addition, the gathering discussed the establishment of an airstrip in Malkangiri, a significant development that will enhance air connectivity and provide a major boost to tourism, business, and emergency medical services in the area. The attendees emphasized the importance of expediting the airstrip project and exploring potential partnerships with relevant stakeholders.
Another noteworthy announcement was the approval of several telecommunication projects. The meeting confirmed the sanctioning of 85 Jio towers and 51 BSNL towers in Malkangiri. These telecom infrastructure initiatives will significantly improve network coverage and ensure better access to reliable communication services for the local population.
Various other ongoing and proposed projects pertaining to education, healthcare, agriculture, and rural development were also deliberated upon during the meeting. The participants reiterated their commitment to prioritize these initiatives and expedite their implementation for the benefit of the district’s residents.
