Malkangiri, June 8, 2023: The district-level Animal Health Fair took place on the 7th and 8th of June at the MV-7 High School Playground under the auspices of Malkangiri Block . The two-day event witnessed the gathering of farmers, scientists, and livestock enthusiasts to discuss various issues pertaining to animal welfare.

On the first day of the fair, a wide range of topics related to animal health and agriculture were deliberated upon. The discussions primarily revolved around the challenges faced by the livestock industry, including the well-being of goats, poultry, and other animals. Over 100 goats, poultry, farmers, and scientists participated in the productive discussions aimed at finding sustainable solutions for the betterment of animal health in the district.

The second day of the event witnessed the esteemed presence of the Chief Guest, ADM Maheswar Chandra Nayak. The fair was graced by the District Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr. Ashok Kumar Tripathi. More than 250 farmers actively engaged in the program, showcasing their commitment to the animal welfare cause.

In recognition of their outstanding contributions to the field, nine individuals were honored during the fair. These awards served as a token of appreciation for their relentless efforts in promoting animal welfare and advancing the agricultural sector. The recipients were recognized for their exemplary work in areas such as animal husbandry, livestock management, and agricultural research.

Moreover, the event marked the launch of a souvenir booklet titled “Animal Progress,” providing valuable insights into the advancements and achievements in the animal welfare domain. The booklet aims to serve as a comprehensive guide for farmers, researchers, and enthusiasts, offering knowledge and best practices for the enhancement of animal health and productivity.

The District-Level Animal Health Fair held in Malkangiri successfully provided a platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas, address challenges, and foster collaborations. With a focus on the betterment of animal welfare, this event has further strengthened the resolve of farmers, scientists, and government authorities to work together towards a more prosperous and sustainable livestock industry in the region.
