Malkangiri,02 August ,2023 :In a significant initiative aimed at promoting employment generation and skill development among the youth, a specialized camp was organized at Salimi Gram Panchayat under Mathili Block. The event was orchestrated under the banner of the Odisha Skill Development Authority, with the unwavering support of the District Administration and BSF Malkangiri.

The camp was inaugurated by Shri VP Singh, Commanding Officer of BSF Second Battalion, who graced the event as the Chief Guest. Other notable attendees included Salimi Sarpanch Sri. Bandhu Bhumia, BSF Second Battalion’s Second in Commandant Mr. Sikandar Singh, Deputy Commandant of BSF Malkangiri, Mr. Shubhanjan Mohapatra, District Employment Officer Mr. Manswi Sethi, District Youth Officer Mr. Harish Rupal, Zilla Porishad Skill Project Manager Mrs. Shashwati Raut, Government Polytechnic Principal Mr. J.R Das, and Block Project Manager Bipin Kumar Khura.

A total of 158 youths from diverse backgrounds enthusiastically participated in the camp. The attendees were offered counseling sessions, and they were provided information about recruitment and placement opportunities offered by renowned institutes like CIPET and Gram Tarang.

Additionally, special attention was given to eligible young women, and they were counseled on admission procedures for ITIs and polytechnics by the experienced coaches from these institutes. The goal was to encourage young women to pursue technical education and empower them to enter various professional fields.

The camp’s success demonstrated the community’s commitment to fostering skill development and employment opportunities for the youth of Salimi GP and its surrounding areas. By equipping the young generation with the necessary skills and guidance, the camp aimed to contribute to the socio-economic growth of the region, ultimately leading to a more prosperous and empowered community.
