Hirakud, April 1:  With the objective of promoting agricultural development and strengthening farmers’ livelihoods in the Hirakud region, Hindalco Industries Limited, Hirakud Complex, continues to implement a range of community development initiatives under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme through Project Vasudha.

Under the guidance of the Unit Head of Hindalco Hirakud Complex, Mr. Sumit Mukherjee, and the supervision of the Head–Human Resources, Mr. Vishwas Shinde, the project is actively supporting agriculture‑based livelihood activities such as farming, cattle rearing, goat rearing, fisheries, mushroom cultivation, and vegetable farming across the region.

As part of this initiative, Hindalco Hirakud today provided high‑quality milch cows to two women farmers—Mrs. Nalini Mahakud of Mohammadpur village and Mrs. Sunita Parekh of R.R. Colony. The support is expected to significantly enhance their household income and contribute to long‑term economic self‑reliance through dairy farming.

It is worth mentioning that earlier as well, Hindalco Hirakud had extended similar support by providing livestock such as cows, poultry, and goats to several farmers in the region. These interventions have played a vital role in improving livelihood opportunities and increasing income levels among rural families.

Expressing their gratitude, beneficiaries Mrs. Sunita Parekh and Mrs. Nalini Mahakud thanked the Hindalco management for the timely support and stated that the initiative would help improve their family’s economic condition.
