Malkangiri District Launches Family Welfare Awareness Rath

Malkangiri,11 July 2023 : – The Malkangiri District Health Committee has unveiled the Family Welfare Awareness Rath, a mobile awareness campaign aimed at promoting family planning and reproductive health. The initiative was inaugurated by Smt. Samari Tangul, the Zilla Porishad Chairman, who flagged off the Rath with a green signal. The event was graced by the presence of Sri. Maheshwar Chandra Naik, the Additional District Magistrate, and Dr. Prafulla Kumar Nanda, the Chief District Medical Officer, who attended as the chief guests.
The primary objective of this awareness drive is to educate the residents of all seven blocks in the district, including Malkangiri town, about the importance of family planning. The campaign will run from July 11 to July 25, during which the Family Welfare Awareness Rath will travel across the district, disseminating information and creating awareness about various family planning methods and reproductive health services available to the community.
Among the dignitaries present during the launch were Dr. Brajbandhu Dash, ADMO (Family Welfare), and Dr. Dhaneshwar Mohapatra, ADMO (VBD). Also in attendance were Ms. Indira Pradhan, the District Welfare Officer, Dr. Ranjan Kumar Swain, Secretary of the Youth Red Cross, Mrs. Sasmita Sahu, the NHM District Project Manager, and medical officers and health workers from various blocks.
The Family Welfare Awareness Rath will serve as a mobile platform for disseminating vital information about the significance of family planning, reproductive health, and the availability of related services. The campaign aims to empower individuals and families to make informed choices about their reproductive health, contributing to overall community well-being.
As the Rath embarks on its journey, it is expected to engage with a wide range of community members, delivering valuable knowledge that can positively impact the lives of the people in Malkangiri District.
