Malkangiri ,Odisha,14 Aug,2024:-In a powerful show of solidarity, the Malkangiri Journalist Forum, under the leadership of MUJ President Deba Prasad Das and UJA President Duryadhan Patra, staged a demonstration in front of the Malkangiri Collectorate today. The protest was organized in response to the false charges leveled by the Andhra Pradesh Police against four journalists from Chhattisgarh.

The demonstration saw a large gathering of journalists who raised slogans against both the Andhra Pradesh Police and the Chhattisgarh Police, expressing their outrage over the unwarranted actions taken against their fellow journalists.

Following the protest, the forum submitted a memorandum addressed to the Honorable Home Minister Amit Shah through the Collector of Malkangiri, demanding an unconditional bail for the accused journalists and calling for a CBI inquiry into the matter. A copy of the memorandum was also submitted to the Superintendent of Police, Malkangiri.

The demonstration was attended by several prominent journalists, including Debu Sana, Jintendra Beuria, Premendra Poricha, A. Iswar Rao, Siba Prasad Kirtania, Srinivas Patra, Simanchal Panigrahi, Ratnakar Das, and Panchanan Das, all of whom stood united in their demand for justice.

The Malkangiri Journalist Forum has made it clear that they will continue to fight for the rights of journalists and will not tolerate any attempts to suppress freedom of the press.
