NEW DELHI,FEB 18 : According to a survey to determine the popularity and acceptability of India’s Chief Ministers, Odisha’s Naveen Patnaik, who has held the post for over two decades, has been rated as the most popular Chief Minister of the country.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath followed in close in the second spot.

Here is the list of the five most popular Chief Ministers of India:

Topping the list is the 77-yeaWr-old Chief Minister of Odisha who has held office since March 2000. According to the survey, he received a popularity rating of 52.7 per cent. The Biju Janata Dal chief is one of the longest serving Chief Ministers of the country.

In second position is Yogi Adityanath, the 21st Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh since March 2017. The BJP leader garnered a popularity rating 51.3 per cent in the survey. Yogi has been in office for almost seven years now, making him the longest serving Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Assam’s Himanta Biswa Sarma ranked third in the survey with a popularity rating of 48.6 per cent. A former Congress member, Sarma joined the BJP in 2015 and assumed office as the 15th Chief Minister of Assam in May 2021.

The fourth place was occupied by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel with a popularity rating of 42.6 per cent. The 17th

Chief Minister of Gujarat, he assumed office in September 2021.

Tripura’s Manik Saha occupied the fifth position in the survey with a popularity rating of 41.4 per cent. A former Congress leader who joined the BJP in 2016, Saha assumed his second term as the Chief Minister of Tripura in May 2022.
