Bhubaneswar, Sept.19: NTPC Bongaigaon hosted the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” tree plantation drive on 17th September 2024, within its lush plant premises. The event, set against the green expanse of the NTPC campus, highlighted the company’s dedication to environmental stewardship and sustainable development. Shri Debabrata Kar, GM (O&M), inaugurated the drive, accompanied by Shri Asutosh Biswas, GM (Operation), various Heads of Departments, and employees who actively participated in the plantation activities.

The Environment Management Group (EMG) Department orchestrated the drive, planting a wide range of saplings, including native species, to enhance the green cover of the plant premises. The initiative not only focused on environmental conservation but also symbolized the nurturing spirit of motherhood, aligning with the essence of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. The serene and green surroundings of the plant premises provided an ideal backdrop for the event, reinforcing NTPC Bongaigaon’s commitment to fostering a sustainable and eco-friendly work environment.

Shri Kar also spoke about NTPC Bongaigaon’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and how the plant premises reflect the company’s environmental objectives. He encouraged employees to actively participate in preserving the green cover and to become ambassadors of change, both within the organization and in the broader community.
