Odisha CM Mohan Majhi provides on-spot assistance to distressed citizens
84% Grievances Resolved in Previous Sessions

Bhubaneswar, March 3: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, along with his ministers and senior officials, held his ninth grievance hearing session on Monday, reinforcing the government’s commitment to swift redressal of public concerns.
Several grievances were addressed on the spot, with a special focus on financial assistance for individuals facing critical health conditions. CM Majhi stated, “The government of the people is with the people. We are ensuring swift grievance resolution.”
The initiative, ongoing since July last year, has resolved 84% of cases from previous sessions, addressing 7,331 out of 8,737 complaints.
Under the Chief Minister’s direction, a special campaign facilitated financial aid from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for those with terminal and incurable illnesses. Beneficiaries included Hemant Sahu (Nimapada, Puri) and Bichitra Paikaraya (Nirakarpur, Khurda), who received Rs 1 lakh each for paralysis treatment, Hajira Bibi (Bhograi, Balasore) who was granted Rs 3 lakh for bone marrow cancer treatment, Indu Behera (Tikabali, Kandhamal) who received Rs 1 lakh for cancer treatment, and Rashmita Nayak (Gajapati), who was provided Rs 1 lakh for her son’s medical expenses. A dedicated medical team was present to expedite assistance.
Beyond medical aid, complaints covered various concerns. CM Majhi, alongside seven cabinet ministers and senior secretaries, personally addressed grievances, escalating urgent matters via direct phone calls.
The Chief Minister emphasized priority for differently-abled individuals, senior citizens, and those in dire need. “Every grievance is taken seriously, and necessary action is initiated promptly,” he affirmed.
Accompanying him were Deputy CM Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and key ministers, including Suresh Pujari (revenue & disaster management), Dr Mukesh Mahaling (health), Rabi Narayan Naik (rural development), Krushna Chandra Patra (food supplies), Gokulanand Mallick (fisheries & livestock), and Sampada Chandra Swain (industries). Senior bureaucrats, including Additional Chief Secretaries Satyabrat Sahu, Surendra Kumar, and Deo Ranjan Kumar Singh, also oversaw proceedings.
Many complainants left the session relieved and grateful. The Odisha government remains committed to timely interventions for better governance and public welfare.
