Big Announcement: Odisha govt announces Unlock-6 – Teaching allowed for Classes IX, X

Bhubaneswar, Oct. The Odisha government on Saturday announced the Unlock-6 guidelines which allowed partial relaxations in reopening of schools, marriage ceremonies and conduct of last rites of deceased persons.

As per the new guidelines, all schools will remain closed till November 30. However, Classes for Class IX to X will be allowed with a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) which will be announced later.

As regards opening of the temples and religious shrines, the guidelines said the institutions will open with permission from the local administration. The local administration will grant permission considering the Covid-19 conditions in the locality.

The guidelines allowed congregation of 200 people in marriage ceremonies. With regard participation of family members and relatives in last rites of their kith and kin, the guidelines allowed 50 people.

The guidelines continued restriction on reopening of cinema halls and swimming pools till Novermber 30.

Restrictions on international flights were also retained in the guidelines.

The guidelines also prescribed that no political meetings and social gatherings will be allowed.

School and mass education minister Sameer Ranjan Dash said that his department would soon issue an SOP for reopening of the schools and all steps will be taken for ensuring that Covid-19 infections did not happen among students and teachers.
