Odisha minister Pratap Jena falls sick during visit to Kandhamal, airlifted to Bhubaneswar

BHUBANESWAR, OCT. 31: Odisha panchayati raj minister Pratap Jena on Sunday suddenly fell ill during his tour in Kahandhamal district and was airlifted to Bhubaneswar for treatment at a private hospital.
Sources said that the minister was admitted to Apollo Hospital, Bhubaneswar. He was brought to the capital city from Phulbani town in Kandhamal through an air ambulance.
Sources said the minister who minister was on a visit to Kandhamal district since October 28, suddenly fell sick earlier in the morning. He was struck with fever and trouble breathing following which he was rushed to the Circuit House in Phulbani. A team of doctors attended to him till he was airlifted to Bhubaneswar.
Sources said that the BJD leader underwent Covid test. While his antigen test report came negative, the result of his RT-PCR test was awaited till this report was filed.
Hospital sources said the minister’s condition was stable.
