Bhubaneswar, Sept. 19: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and his council of ministers on Thursday chose pilgrim city Puri to present a comprehensive report on his government’s achievements in the first 100 days in office.

The CM said the new BJP government had tried to deliver on all its pre-poll promises and thereby had succeeded in winning the hearts of the people.

The CM outlined the opening of the four gates of Lord Jagannath’s Srimandir at Puri for devotees, reopening of Ratna Bhandar of Srimandir after a gap of 40 years, launching of women welfare initiative Subhadra Yojana, hike of paddy‘s minimum support price to Rs 3100 and attracting investment of to the tune of Rs 45,000 crore as his government’s major accomplishments in the past three months.

“The first 100 days has been a period of fulfillment of our pre-poll promises. Besides, we have been trying to ensure that the governance reaches to the doorstep of the people,” said the CM.

The CM added that because of the arrogance of the previous Naveen Patnaik government, Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Ayushman Bharat Yojana could not be implemented in Odisha. As a result, Odia people living in other states could not avail the benefits of this scheme, he said.

The CM released a booklet which contained a graphical presentation of his government’s achievements and activities in the first hundred days.

He did not miss the opportunity to attack the previous Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government headed by Naveen Patnaik.

“The previous government was quite haughty and arrogant. It was also thoroughly corrupt and inefficient. It did not hesitate to misuse the name of Lord Jagannath to get votes. However, Lord Jagannath does not tolerate such low-level politics and the deity punished the haughty BJD government,” Majhi observed.

Two Deputy Chief Ministers – Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo and Pravati Parida, health minister Mukesh Mahaling, BJP national spokesperson and Puri Lok Sabha MP Dr Sambit Patra, local MLAs and BJP state party president Manmohan Samal were among others present on the podium.
