Malkangiri 01 July,2023 : In a significant breakthrough, the Malkangiri Police has unearthed a major Maoist dump in the dense jungle between Dabuguda and Arlingpada at the Andhra Odisha border. The discovery, made on June 29, 2023, has led to the recovery of a substantial cache of arms, explosives, IEDs , and other incriminating articles.

The operation, codenamed “Khoj,” was launched by the SP of Malkangiri Sri.Nitesh Wadwani in 2022 with the objective of locating and recovering hidden Maoist weaponry, ammunition, and other related materials in the region. Since its inception, “Operation Khoj” has successfully uncovered several Maoist dumps.

The recovery of this latest Maoist dump marks a significant blow to the Maoist insurgency in the area. The seized arsenal includes firearms, grenades, landmines, detonators, and a vast quantity of ammunition. The police believe that this discovery will severely disrupt the activities of the Maoist rebels and undermine their capacity to carry out violent acts against the state and its people.

The Malkangiri Police have intensified their efforts to apprehend the individuals responsible for hiding the weaponry and to dismantle the Maoist network operating in the region. This breakthrough underscores the commitment of the police force in maintaining peace and security in the area.
