Bhubaneswar, Feb 16: The 2nd day ofOdisha Mining & Infrastructure International Expo witnessed the participation of industry experts in 2 separate panel discussions.

Started with welcome address by Swami Prem Anvesh ji, MD, Futurex Group, in the first panel discussion, the invited guests discussed on the topic Significance of Sustainability and ESG.

Mr Amit K Dubey, Head – Mining Division, India & Overseas, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India Limited, Mr Anand Rai, Corporate Head of Environment of Steel & Coated Business, JSW Group, Mr B.P. Mishra, Executive Vice President, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd, Mr Praveen Mishra, Sr Vice President, LSI Engineering & Consultants Ltd, Mr Kunal Raman, Director – Business, Updapt, Mr Subhajit Chaudhuri, Director, MMD Heavy Machinery (India) Pvt Ltd, Mr Leo Christy A, Dy Geologist, Vimson Group, Mr. Mansur Faruqui , Co-Founder Cum CEO – LINQ haul India Pvt. Ltd, joined the panel and discussed on various aspects of the Global Trends and Challenges in Sustainable Mining, Regulatory Frameworks for Sustainable Mining, Technological Innovations for Sustainable Mining Practices, Best Practices in Environmental Management, and Significance of ESG in Mining sector. Mr Mithilesh Kumar, Head – Centre for Sustainability, PHDCCI was present on this occasion.

Speaking on this occasion Mr Mr Amit Dubey, Head Mining, AM/NS India, said, In mining and steel making Odisha hold a key position in the World’s industry map. AM/NS India put its footprint in the state very strongly with its Mining, benification plant and steel making. AM’NS India is operating in the state with its Steel plant at Paradeep as well work started for the proposed Mega Steel Plant at Kendrapara. We are committed to our growth plan in Odisha.

In the 2nd Panel discussion was moderated by Mr Punit Chaudhry, Secretary, PHDCCI, Mr Bhakti B. Parida, Manager, Tata Power, Prof Laxmikant Paikray, Utkal University discussed on the topic “Renewable Energy in Mining Sector: A Greener Way Forward” The speakers delivered their opinion on Embracing Renewable Energy in Mining and how to Overcome the Challenges in Implementing Renewable Energy as well as the Future Trends and Innovations
