Malkangiri, 16 September 2023:-Government (SSD) Girls High School in Kalimela has launched the “Parents as Partner” (PAP) program, aiming to educate parents and students about various government schemes supported by the State Government’s Scheduled Castes and Tribes Welfare Department. This initiative has now been extended throughout the entire district with the primary goal of raising awareness among parents about programs designed for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students.

The program’s inauguration saw Sri. Ramakrishna Naik, Block Development Officer, grace the occasion as the chief guest, while District Welfare Officer Prafula Kumar Bhujabala served as the chief speaker. Kalimela Block Welfare Extension Officer Sumant Kumar Ponda presided over the event. The Head Mistress of SSD Girls High School, Kalimela, Banani Mohapatra, played a pivotal role in organizing this significant event and personally presented the program’s details.

The event witnessed the presence of various dignitaries, including ABEO Chinta Haran Madhu, Kalimela Forest Ranger Tankdhar Das, School Management Committee President Dulla Madkami, SMDC Member Mandeep Roy, and heads of Ashram Schools in the region. Panchaguru Mahananda, an assistant teacher at the school, delivered the vote of thanks and introduced the guests.

Numerous government departments set up stalls at the event, including the Kalimela Forest Department, Kalimela Fisheries Department, Health Department, Integrated Child Welfare Department, Mamata Yojana, and programs focusing on life skills and sewing education. These departments used pictures, posters, and projectors to enlighten parents about the various schemes available.

The program witnessed active participation from hundreds of students and parents, who expressed their appreciation to Principal Banani Mohapatra for organizing such an informative and beneficial event. “Parents as Partner” has taken a significant step in ensuring that parents and students are well-informed about government schemes aimed at uplifting Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students in the region.
