Pollutant tar plant demolished over the government land

Jajpur,DEC 25 : The district administration has demolished on Wednesday an illegal pollutant tar plant over the government land at Balisahi Chhack within Jenapur police station of Jajpur district .
“The Jaga Balia tar plant is also guilty of polluting water and air in the nearby villages. The plant was also violating the hazardous waste laws of the country for which we demolished the plant which was illegally constructed over the government land ”, said Narayan Chandra Dhal the Sub- Collector of Jajpur.
In August , we had issued eviction notice to the owner of the plant. But the plant owner was running the plant for which we demolished the plant with the help of police on Wednesday ,. The plant was operating without obtaining any permission from the Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB) and district industry officer added the officer.
We need more land for the construction of many upcoming project and widening the road . We will not spare any encroachers who are illegally occupying the government land . Legal action will be taken against those who refuse to vacate the lands. Officials are working out ways to gather details about government land under unlawful occupation in the district, added the sub- collector.
