President’s village in Odisha gets a facelift ahead of her May 4 visit

Baripada, April 29: Ahead of the President Droupadi Murmu’s visit on May 4 to Odisha, her native place Pahadpur under Kusumi block of in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district is now undergoing a complete makeover. Be it roads, schools or other infrastructure, the officials and other staff of various departments are not leaving any stone unturned to make the President’s stay a memorable experience.
The kutcha roads in the village and its adjoining areas are now being replaced with proper concrete ones. The President’s in-law’s house in Rairangpur town in the same Mayurbhanj district is being renovated.
It is for the first time that Droupadi Murmu will be visiting her village after assuming office as the President of India.
The local residents are also looking forward to the President’s visit and accord her a grand welcome.
“Everybody here is excited about President Droupadi Murmu’s visit and make her visit a grand success,” said Muni Pratihari, a local resident.
Another local resident Kishore Rajak said, “President Droupadi Murmu’s in-law’s place at Pahadpur is gearing up for her visit. All departments are working day and night and the villagers are looking forward to the President’s visit.”
President Droupadi Murmu’s teacher said, “The daughter of the soil is now President of the country. She has made everybody here proud. She always loved her country and I pray God for her wellbeing.”
As per the schedule, President Droupadi Murmu will reach Badampahar helipad from where she will go to Pahadpur on May 4, 2023. Later, she is likely to attend various programmes at Rairangpur. On May 5, Murmu is likely to visit Similipal National Park and later visit Baripada.
Meanwhile, all administrative officials are supervising works so that there are no lapses during her visit, said an official.
