‘Pushpa 2’ screening death case: Allu Arjun released after spending night in jail
HYDERABAD, DEC 14 : National award winner and actor Allu Arjun was released on Saturday early morning after the Telangana High Court granted bail on Friday. The court granted him bail for four weeks.
He was arrested in connection with the death of a woman at the Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of his movie Pushpa-2 on December 4.
Though the court gave bail on Friday, he was not released from jail.
Speaking with the media, Allu Arjun said that he was well. “For immense love and support thank you everyone, I am well nothing to worry. I would like to say that I am a law abiding citizen. I respect the law and I will cooperate with them and I will do the needful” he added.
He once again said that Revathi’s death at the Sandhya theatre was unfortunate. “I would like to give my condolences to that family. It was very very unfortunate that we went to watch a film and an accident happened, that was totally unintentional. That was an unfortunate accident. We always feel sorry for whatever happened. It is purely out of my personal control”, he mentioned.
He said that he had been going to watch movies for the last 20 years. “I had been to that place to watch not only my movies but also my uncle’s films. I have been there for more than 30 times in my life. Never something like this ever happened. It’s purely accidental. I will be there for that family for support in whatever way I can. We can never cover the loss of a death of a person”, he said.
He thanked everyone who supported him including his fans.
As the case is in the court he said that he would not speak much about the incident.
Speaking with the media, Advocate for Allu Arjun, Ashok Reddy said that the jail officials received the order copied on Friday itself. “Despite the order being copied , they did not release him. The High court order is very specific that forthwith the moment you (jail officials) receive the order, you had to be released. Despite clear orders they did not release”.
He also said that this was an illegal arrest and illegal detention.
