Balangir, Mar 21: The Departments of Philosophy and Sanskrit of Rajendra University,Balangir, Odisha,jointly organized a two-day national seminar on “Sarvadarsana: A Quest for Truth,” with sponsorship from the Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR).

The seminar commenced on March 18 at 10:00 AM with an inaugural session featuring distinguished speakers,including Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Umaballava Mohapatra,Vice Chancellor of Rajendra University,Guest of Honour Sri Judhisthir Naik,Registrar of the University. Dr. Raj Kishore Patra was the Convener,while Dr. Pankojini Mulia and Mr. Amareswar Naik were the Co-Conveners. Eminent scholars such as Prof. Dr. Ajit Kumar Behura from IIT(ISM) Dhanbad and Prof. Dr. Subash Chandra Dash from Utkal University graced the occasion as Guests of Honor.

Mr. Pintu Das and Dr. Seema Rani Rath successfully anchored the first day of the seminar.Plenary Session featured a lecture by Prof. Dr. Ajit Kumar Behura on Indian Knowledge Systems and an insightful talk by Prof. Dr. Goura Priya Dash of Central Sanskrit University,Puri,on Indian Knowledge System and Sarvadarsana.

In the post-lunch session, Dr. Saroj Kanta Kar,Associate Professor of Philosophy at Utkal University,delivered an online talk on The Primacy of Experience for Truth in Indian Philosophy with Reference to Jainism and Buddhism.The second day,March 19,began with Plenary Session III,moderated by Mr. Amreshwar Naik and Mr.

Pintu Das. Prof. Dr. Subash Chandra Dash delivered a lecture on The Philosophy of Word Meaning: Realizing the Truth, followed by a thought -provoking lecture by Prof. Dr. Ganesh Prasad Das on Philosophical reflections from India for the world.The post-lunch technical sessions showcased almost forty research papers covering various domains of philosophy.

The seminar concluded with a 6:00 PM valedictory session summarizing key insights from the discussions.

This event served as a vital platform for scholars and students to engage in profound philosophical dialogue and enhance their understanding of India’s intellectual traditions.With its focus on truth-seeking across multiple philosophical perspectives,Sarvadarsana is expected to contribute significantly to contemporary philosophical scholarship.
