Selection Program Under Chief Minister’s Artist Support Scheme Fills District Vacancies

Malkangiri, September 4, 2023 – In a significant step towards bolstering the cultural vibrancy of Malkangiri district, a selection program was held today at Sanskruti Bhawan to fill vacancies under the Chief Minister’s Artist Assistance Scheme. The scheme, designed to provide financial support to local artists, has already benefited 653 artists in the district, with 672 artists earmarked for assistance in total. This selection program aimed to identify and support the remaining 19 deserving artists.
The selection committee responsible for identifying these artists was composed of eminent individuals with a deep appreciation for art and culture. The committee included District Culture Officers Pramila Majhi, Binash Mishra, Gyanadev Sahu, and Basant Kumar Dakua, all of whom brought their expertise and insights to the selection process.
The event witnessed a robust gathering of art enthusiasts and supporters, including District Art Culture Association Vice President Ghenu Muduli, Harekrishna Kirtania, Ranjan Mohanty, and other esteemed senior artists.
