JAJPUR,NOV.25: Well-known Helping Hand social Organization virtually felicitated Public Works Department Exutive Engineer Arun Patanaiak for their work as Covid warriors. The engineer despite the shutdown toured various areas in the district and took stock of the ongoing development projects. Besides, they carried out various social activities like distributing masks, sanitisers and free food to the needy people.
Patanaik said it gives him immense pleasure to serve mankind in these difficult times. The Government is always there for people and is aware of all their problems,said Mishra. In simple words, social work is a hugely important profession, where an individual tries to make a difference for families and communities and help them meet their basic needs. The main three goals of social work are to maximize human potential, help people meet their social needs and achieve social justice. People who take up social work as their career work hard towards these goals. Professor Biestek introduced a set of seven principles for social workers.
These are: a non judgmental attitude, accepting everybody, not getting involved emotionally, expressing feelings purposefully, individualization, being determined towards clients and maintaining confidentiality. These are the seven principles that all social workers should follow. Creating good change in society and being willing to work hard for it is pretty amazing, and we should all thank every social worker we come across with a tight hug and beautiful smile.
