Tata Steel Mining’s Gopalpur plant observes National Safety Week, aims zero harm at workplace

Berhampur, March 28: Tata Steel Mining’s Ferro Alloys Plant at Gopalpur observed the 52nd National Safety Week, by organizing many safety awareness events at the plant site.
Aiming to sensitise people in and around its operations on various safety aspects of workplace, Tata Steel Mining organized competitions like slogan writing, poster designing, essay writing, quiz competition and hazard hunt among the workers and employees. Around 250 people from different departments had gathered to witness the closing ceremony and participate in the safety awareness programmes.
Prizes were distributed to the winners of the competitions to encourage employees and promote safety awareness. The employees also took pledge to strictly adhere to the safety guidelines in order to achieve zero harm at workplace.
Attending the event as chief guest, Sudhanshu Sekhar Sahoo, Asst. Director of Factories & Boilers appreciated the safety standards of the plant and expressed happiness over TSML’s efforts in creating safety awareness among its employees. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted about the National Safety Council, the objective behind its formation and how it takes care of people working in industries.
Atla Rambabu, Unit Head of FAP Gopalpur graced the occasion and shared about TSML’s approach towards achieving zero harm. He highlighted the importance of safety at workplace and the initiatives undertaken by the company to ensure a safe workplace.
On the occasion, the employees also performed a play to sensitise people on the importance of safety at workplace.
