Bhubaneswar, Sept. 18: On the occasion of the 43rd Foundation Day of the Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB), held today at the OUAT Conference Hall in Bhubaneswar, Tata Steel’s Joda East Iron Mine was conferred with the prestigious Pollution Control Appreciation Award 2026.

The award was presented in the presence of Shri Ganesh Ram Singhkhuntia, Hon’ble Minister for Forest, Environment & Climate Change, and Labour & Employees’ State Insurance, Government of Odisha, who graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest. The honor was jointly handed over by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and the Member Secretary of the Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB).

The accolade recognizes the mine’s outstanding commitment to environmental stewardship and its continuous implementation of exemplary best practices in air quality management, water conservation, and soil protection across its operations.

Adding to the event’s significance, Tata Steel set up exclusive exhibition stalls at the venue showcasing its pioneering achievements in Sustainable Mining and Advanced Green Technologies. The interactive stalls highlighted cutting-edge sustainable practices.

Visitors and dignitaries praised Tata Steel for leveraging technology to set benchmarks for responsible and environmentally conscious mining in the region.
