PUNE,JUNE 16 : The 3rdDigital Economy Working Group (DEWG) meeting concluded on 14 June 2023, Wednesdayin Pune. The meeting saw deliberations on important issues like digital security, cyber security, securing Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), and the digital economy.

During this meeting 10 discussion sessions on DPI were organized wherein, 60 global experts shared their views on Digital Public Infrastructure. The meeting witnessed participation from 300 senior delegates, 150 foreign delegates representing 46 countries, and international organizations like UNDP, UNESCO, WEF, World Bank, ITU, ADB, OECD, and UNCDF.

On the last day of the meeting, a total of 4 sessions were organized during which detailed discussions concerning digital skilling and digital security were held. Along with this, a presentation was given on Toolkit for Cyber Awareness.

 During the presentation, India’s initiatives like COWIN, Aadhaar Enabled Payment System, and Soil Health Card were showcased by India’s representative. Furthermore, the meeting mainly focused on drafting the manifesto. This declaration will be finalized in the 4th Working Group Meeting, which is scheduled to take place in Bengaluru in August 2023.

On the sidelines of the meeting, G20 representatives inquired about the DigiLocker stall along with the Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and IT, Alkesh Kumar Sharma, and President& CEO of the National e-Governance Division, Abhishek Singh, among others.

A cultural program for the G-20 delegates was also organized by the Government of Maharashtra, at Savitribai Phule Pune University.

During the cultural program, the foreign delegates were mesmerized by the breathtaking renditions of authentic Maratha games of Mallakhamb and Dandapatta.  Along with this, the foreign guests were awestruck by the classical dance performance during the cultural program.

The second meeting of the G20 Digital Economy Working Group was held in Hyderabad while the first meeting was held in Lucknow.
