Malkangiri Odisha : In a major crackdown on illegal drug activities, the District and Sessions Judge Smt.Ajanta Sadangi has sentenced three individuals to 10 years imprisonment and one lakh fine for transporting cannabis(Ganja) in Excise Department Case No.54/21-22.

Anup Kumar Majumdar of MV 68, Mira Biswas of MV-35 and Govinda Gain of Mv-122 were apprehended during a routine vehicle check on Titibiri to Malkangiri road by excise Sub Inspector sri.Udayanath Nayak  and his staff on Aug. 13th, 2021 and seized 72 Kg Ganja in a tata Indica Car.

The district session judge ruled that the accused had committed a serious crime by transporting and possessing large quantities of cannabis, which is banned under Indian law.
