Two- wheeler racket busted, – four arrested: 10 stolen bikes recovered

Jajpur, Aug 7 : Police arrested four bike lifters on Saturday at Kuakhia in Jajpur district on the charges of their involvement in many two wheeler theft cases in the district and its nearby areas . Police also seized Ten stolen bikes and 15 mobile phones from them , said Chinmaya Kumar Nayak the Sub- Divisional police Officer of Jajpur .
All the arrested persons confessed before the police that they looted many two wheeler vehicles. Police are hopeful of making further recovery of stolen bikes, said the police officer.
Police suspect the involvement of many garage owners, officials of the state transport corporation , regional transport officials and other gang members in many bike theft cases. In some garages , they easily change the number plates and colours of the bikes in clear nexus with the garage owners, police said.
All the arrested persons were booked under section- 379, 411, 34 and 395 of Indian Penal Code. Police are also investigating their involvement in many cases , added the police officer. They were produced in the local court on Saturday. The court rejected their bail applications and remanded them in jail custody.
